Congratulations to Bishop Vann on His Appointment as Bishop of Orange

Monsignor Jeffrey N. Steenson, Ordinary for the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter offered his congratulations to Bishop Kevin Vann, who was named Bishop of Orange in California:

“It is with great joy that I learned our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, named Fort Worth Bishop Kevin Vann as the Bishop of Orange.

“Bishop Vann has been instrumental in the implementation of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, always providing us with consistent and steady assistance. His pastoral solicitude to candidates for ordination and his wise counsel in the formulation of the policies and norms for the Ordinariate have been an incredible help in this first year.

“I look forward to continuing a close relationship with him, particularly in his role as the ecclesiastical delegate for the Pastoral Provision. He is a gracious and kind shepherd and I am sure that he will be as loved and respected by his flock in Orange as he has been in Fort Worth.”
